About Longmeadows

Longmeadows Holiday park was opened in 1973 and has been owned and run by the Stephenson family ever since. The Stephenson family have a long history of farming in the South Holderness area and back in 1973 Mr Stephenson, a forward thinking farmer, decided that diversity was the way forward and allowed caravans to use the grass field adjacent to his farm house. This small site was soon to expand into the modern area it is today, with it’s fabulous facilities and old fashioned values. Being close to the beach and set in rural surroundings, this is the ideal place for peaceful yet convenient holidays, close to the town attractions yet far enough away for peace and quiet.

Longmeadows Holiday Park was built by family for families...

The Local Area

Soon, the business was taken over by the four Stephenson sons. All “chips off the old block”, they too were forward thinking and began to develop and shape the park by adding roads, paving and a new office block in 1975, closely followed by a new clubhouse “The Northfield” in 1976.

The addition of toilet and shower blocks and their subsequent demolition twenty years on, highlights the changes from its humble beginnings, attracting tents and touring caravans, to its well respected status of being the most pleasant, owners only, static holiday home park in the area. The original field has now been extended to accommodate over two hundred holiday homes and divided into three main areas “North, South and West Meadows”.

To the East is the impressive Yorkshire heritage coast and “The Northfield”, country style bar and restaurant stands firmly on the north eastern edge of the site. A further new development is ongoing. New Holiday homes and Lodges form this further expansion of the park and overlook our beautiful South Holderness landscape and natural bright sky vistas.

The Most Colourful Business in Withernsea

In 2013,14,15,16 &17 Longmeadows are proud have won the award for being the most colourful business premises in the area. These top awards are not handed out lightly. Our colourful flower gardens and owner’s maintenance of their plots all added to our success in being awarded this prestigious accolade. We now proudly display the shield on our reception counter. Through hard work and determination, we are also proud to have earned a certificate of achievement in “Yorkshire Passion” from the Visit Hull and East Yorkshire tourism program.

The days of camping and touring caravans are now long gone for Longmeadows and we are still moving forward with new projects such as the timber lodge development, a modern area of the holiday home market which has recently increased in popularity. Recent increases in manufacturer numbers and competition have reduced prices and now make the lodge option a real possibility.

Pride over Profit

2021 saw the start of our further development, adding new plots to The Hawthornes area. These new plots are able to accommodate up to 40ft long x 14 ft wide caravans and lodges and all have amazing views accross open fields. All new development plots have been futureproofed by having a parking area and piped gas. 2024 has started with a further new development which will see a total transformation of our North meadows area from the old caravan row system to a new cul de sac layous with plots to take upto 40ft x 14 ft caravans and Lodges, all with parking and piped gas. This area is close to ameneties and is already starting to take shape. Whilst we offer the best prices and part exchange deals on new and used holiday homes for sale, we choose having pride in our park and development over high profit business and feel this provides you with the security and comfort of a well kept, low cost park all year round.

We will continue to serve our clients for many years to come and hope you choose Longmeadows as your holiday home park.

We look forward to meeting you.
